In Seussical: The Musical, playing tonight, June 1 through June 17 at The Rose Theater, Horton the elephant attempts to save JoJo and the Whos and protect Mayzie La Bird's egg, in this production of the Broadway show.

"Kids and adults alike love the Horton story because it teaches us to believe in ourselves," said Jenny Holcombe, director of Seussical: The Musical. "All of Dr. Seuss's characters tell us that everyone is unique and special, and our imagination can be our greatest gift."

The Cat in the Hat narrates the story, which begins with Horton's discovery of a speck of dust containing tiny Who people, including JoJo, a Who child sent off to Butter Battling Military School for thinking too many "thinks." Seussical features an original script with songs by Stephen Flaherty and Lynn Aherns.

The Rose's production features Kevin Ehrhart as The Cat in the Hat, leading the ensemble cast.

After debuting on Broadway in 2000, the original Seussical: The Musical enjoyed two US national tours and a UK tour. SEUSSICAL features characters from How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Lorax, Green Eggs and Ham, Yertle the Turtle, If I Ran the Circus, The Butter Battle Book, and One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.

Seussical: The Musical will be presented June 1 through 17 with shows on Thursdays at 7 pm, Fridays at 7 pm, Saturdays at 2 pm and Sundays at 2 pm. The show is recommended ages four to adult.
