Live Broadway Karaoke will be held at the Omaha Community Playhouse as part of the 21 & Over series Today, Jan. 7, 2013 in the Scott Lobby. This cabaret-style event will give performers a chance to sing in the country's largest community theatre! A piano, an accompanist and a microphone will be provided. Those wishing to perform should bring sheet music and have song(s) memorized.

As the end of the world approaches, a graduate student takes the preservation of the human race into his own hands through a personal ad. Disaster strikes, food is running out, the lab-turned-shelter is beyond repair and the fish are acting strange. Will he and his 'date' survive? This hilarious romantic comedy turned sci-fi fantasy is contemporary theatre at its best.

August: Osage County, the 2008 Tony Award and Pulitzer Prize winning play has taken over the Omaha Community Playhouse. Thursday evening, I went to see this play for the first time and I was not really sure what I was getting myself into. All I knew was that it was a longer play (three and a half hours) about a dysfunctional family. Dysfunctional would be putting it lightly. This family has completely lost it and by losing it, I mean gone, out the window, crazy! Their eccentric personalities and interesting lifestyles will have you rolling over in laughter the whole evening!
